
Uva-ursi and Echinacea – for cystitis
Uva-ursi & Echinacea Cystitis oral drops is a combination of two distinctive herbs – Arctostaphylos uva-ursi and Echinacea purpurea. It is one of Alfred Vogel’s very first herbal products and used to relieve minor urinary complaints associated with cystitis, in women.
What are Uva-ursi and Echinacea Drops?
Uva-ursi & Echinacea Cystitis oral drops – a traditional herbal medicinal product used to help relieve minor urinary complaints associated with cystitis in women, such as burning sensation when urinating and frequent urination, based on traditional use only. Always read the leaflet.
This remedy contains two herbs traditionally used to treat cystitis. Uva-ursi or Bearberry is a small woody shrub which thrives in the mountains of Alfred Vogel’s Switzerland. This is combined with Echinacea purpurea, well known for its role in the treatment of colds and flu as it strengthens the function of the body’s immune system.
Dosage of Uva-ursi and Echinacea Drops
Directions for use:
Adult women: Take 15 drops two to five times daily in a little water. Read the package leaflet before use.
Not for use in men, children or those under 18.
Do not take if you are allergic to plants of the Asteraceae (Compositae) family, Arctostaphylos uva-ursi or to any of the ingredients of A.Vogel Uva-ursi & Echinacea Cystitis oral drops.
Do not take if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
For oral short-term use only.
Do not take this product for more than 7 days. See your doctor if your symptoms worsen or you do not feel an improvement within 4 days.
Ingredients
One dose (15 drops) contains 357.5 mg of tincture from fresh Arctostaphylos uva-ursi (L.) Spreng, herba (Bearberry herb) (1:4.0-5.2) Extraction solvent: Ethanol 43% m/m and 120 mg of tincture from fresh Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench, herba (Purple Coneflower herb) (1:12-13) Extraction solvent: Ethanol 57.3% m/m.
1 ml of A.Vogel Uva-ursi & Echinacea Cystitis oral drops is equivalent to 30 drops.
This product contains ethanol (alcohol). See leaflet for further information.

Use within 4 months of opening.
Who can’t take Uva-ursi & Echinacea drops
Men – Cystitis in men is most often caused by an enlarged prostate . Seek advice from a doctor in order to get a diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
Women under 18 years of age
Those allergic to Echinacea or plants of the daisy family (Asteracea/Compositae)
Those allergic to Uva-ursi (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi)
Those with a tendency to allergies such as hives, allergic eczema or asthma
Those currently suffering from an autoimmune illness, immune illness or TB.
Those currently taking an immunosuppressant medicine
Side effects
This product may make your urine appear greenish-brown in colour. This is a harmless effect.
Like all medicines, this product can cause side effects although not everybody gets them.
The following minor side effects can occur, although the likelihood of these occurring (frequency) is unknown:
Digestive symptoms such as nausea and vomiting
Allergic reactions such as a skin rash or itching
